It’s been a long few years.
I had no money. I lost my home. I gained a ton of weight and hated myself for it. I was on an anti-depressant battling heartbreak, depression and anxiety. Meanwhile, I was struggling with intense lower abdomen pain for which I’d take 3 Advil, 2 prescription meds and use a heating pad for an hour every morning just to get any sort of relief. I also found out I had a ticking time bomb of an infection in my jaw that was ready to rupture at any second -which could have killed me.

I was so broken.

However, in spite of all that, I always had music. Songwriting became more of a true therapy for me during these past few years than it had ever been before. In fact, I wrote and recorded so much material after “5” was released that I ended up with over 3 more albums worth of music! Guess my heart had a lot to say…

After multiple doctors visits, adopting a Celiac-Friendly diet, undergoing oral surgery, moving cities, getting healthy and truly owning who I was inside and sharing it with the world -I’ve made it to the other side.

“UTOPIA” isn’t a physical place. It’s a state of mind.

I feel better than I ever have. I was so conditioned to feeling bad that I got nervous when days went by when I was pain-free. “How long will this last?” “Oh, this is a fluke -just wait.” I tried convincing myself this feeling was temporary and, luckily, failed.
I am so happy with who I am and I’m free from all the garbage I had been carrying around with me for what seemed like eons.

This EP is for anyone who has struggled with mental illness because it’s one of the hardest things in life to face. I still struggle from time-to-time but I see now there’s a world that exists where pain isn’t built into the language. Heartbreak isn’t law-of-the-land and happiness is a real thing.
These 4 songs are the most authentic pieces of music I’ve put out to date. This is my truth. This is my heart. This is my UTOPIA.
